Effective July 27, 2022, Anthem updated their Commercial Reimbursement Policy on 3D radiology services for both professional and facility billing. For CPT® code 76376 - 3D rendering with interpretation of Computed Tomography, MRI, Ultrasound or other Tomographic modality not requiring image post-processing on an independent workstation, Anthem’s policy update now considers these as not eligible for separate reimbursement. Modifiers will NOT override these edits. The only exclusion to this policy is in Connecticut, where this policy does not apply to facility providers.
Anthem has determined that 3D radiology services will be included in the reimbursement for the imaging study performed, therefore not eligible for separate reimbursement. They go on to identify these services as elective and visual enhancements that may be applied to imaging studies.
