In the calendar year 2024 Physician Fee Schedule Final Rule, CMS announced a formal and indefinite pause on the Appropriate Use Criteria (AUC) program; citing difficulty operationalizing the cumbersome claims based reporting requirements. Effective January 1, 2024 CMS paused efforts on the AUC program, rescinding the program for reevaluation. Please click here for more information on this topic.
